There are some AMAZING training organisations and associations doing fantastic things to train and support Celebrants and Officiants. I’m a member of some of them. I love them! BUT, I am NOT one of them.

I just wanted to create the product that I desperately needed when I started officiating weddings. My hope is that by seeing a real life Celebrant/Officiant at work and getting a detailed look at how I move and what I say to couples during a ceremony, it will help you decide what will work for you without having to feel stressed and worried about where to start.

These resources aren’t supposed to teach you the legalities of officiating wedding ceremonies in your country. This is simply the opportunity for you to watch how I officiate a wedding and have all my templates, workflows, questionnaires and checklists. I’m a Celebrant/Officiant of over seven years based in Tasmania, Australia. I’ve officiated over 200 weddings and now feel comfortable with my writing and delivering of wedding ceremonies.
I have my own style that I’m comfortable with, you may already have your own style and if you don’t then you will develop it along the way.

I just know that when I first started officiating weddings, I really wanted to be a spectator to watch a wedding being officiated. Not to copy the Officiant (well, actually, maybe to copy them when I first started), but also so I could see what it actually looked like in real life, where to stand, move to, what to whisper to couples to make them feel okay.  

Therefore, I had a videographer film me at a real-life wedding rehearsal and a real-life wedding ceremony.  I edited the videos into all the information components I would have wanted to see when I started officiating weddings.

I collated all my resources and have put everything into one place for you. I hope you like it.

In all honesty, there will be parts of these videos and templates that you won’t like, things I say, where I move, how I structure things… That’s okay – they are NOT meant to be instructional videos or copy and paste templates to show you what you MUST do!

In essence the motivation behind this idea was to give you what I needed, which was opportunity to peer over the shoulder of a real-life Officiant/Celebrant at a real-life wedding ceremony.

I break down each component of the wedding ceremony to explain why and how I do what I do. Again, that isn’t to show you how you SHOULD officiate a wedding, it is to give you the opportunity to see it done FOR REAL!
